Nope, no mods at the moment. Just a big bunch of custom maps.

Not exactly. I will occasionally play the original Vietcong, but I haven't decided to update to BF: Vietnam.Embarassed Over here we play paintball scenario games instead. Most of us actually have gear from the war. We all get together (about 50 of us) Marching...  about once every two months and have a scenario game. However, that is about to stop b/c it's to much money, so I'll probably get BF: Vietnam.

BF:V is gonna die soon because of the majority of pubby players leaving for BF2. I think it only has until aug. We gotta face it Vietnam era games overall really suck or they don't have a big enough community.

Most Vietnam games are crap but BF:V is awesome.  It has a massive community and I'm sure it'll still be big for a good while Iwa Jima

BFV isn't gonna die soon the bf2 is a game who is likely like poe':semperfi:
an sometimes the boys play that but the most they play BFV!!
If you would play bf2 you must read the comments on the game and they say that the game comes to it's right on a computer that isn't even found out so fast an who can take on the graphics!!:tank:

BFV nevers dies!!!!

Hi,

I'm still playing BFV, 'cause there's no other game that brings the atmosphere of war to your living room. BF2 is only a remake of other modern war games. Really, who wants to play future war? Playing BFV honoured those who fight and died in NAM.

Greetings,

Hi there,
this is dedicatet to all, who think BFV brings the atmosphere of war into your "living room":
I don't want to make BFV bad but i dont like it, it's pretty much unrealistic. If you get shot for example in your legs, you can still jump or run fast. If you get hit on your arms, you can still aim proper like the first miniute on the battlefield.

this cant be the real war atmosphere, i mean it really cant!
But i wont tell that, wihout having a comparable Game.
Maybe the one or the other who plays such games can Remember the Title "Operation Flashpoint"? Perhabs there is one, for the orthers where this name says nothing: Operation Flashpoint (the short for it is OFP) is much, much more realistic. The basic game is playing in the scenery of Cold War (CCCP vs. USA). Of course you have vehicles like in BF, every one is usable, but the biggest diffrence between the BFV and OFP is the realism. One unlucky bullet fired out of an M16A2 and youre on Holiday in Heaven. And this takes effect on every weapon

As a OFP 'Nam modder and member of the Unsung mod, I'd like to say that I'm very glad that there's interest in this old game. OFP indeed is one of the most realistic games made, and the forthcoming Armed Assault, which is OFP with new features, will be even better. We at Unsung are aiming towards the release of armed assault, but we are not waiting for it. We are modding and making new stuff for the current game, and we are intending to release a new version of our demo soon, with new island, objects and tweaked stuff from the old demo. Stay tuned. For more information, you can visit the Unsung 'Nam mod website:
http://ofp.info/unsung

For discussion about our stuff, the link provided to OFPNam has our forums, and also a link to our other forums is provided on the Unsung website. Smiley We will be bringing you quality, over quantity. I hope you like the effort and athmosphere we are trying to achieve! I'll see you guys in indian country. Cool
