Saw this great little story from a vet poster on the guest book at Chris Noel's website (http://retrobabe.powweb.com/) --

Danny Medders USMC 67-68

COMMENT: I have nothing but fond memories of Chris Noel on the Armed Forces Radio in Vietnam. To be honest, I was In Love! In just one of many dark times in Vietnam I was with India Co. 3/3 at the Washout Bridge (C-2) in November 1967 when me and my A-Gunner (Machine Gunner Jerry Meehan) were listening to Chris on a dinky little portable radio we had jerry rigged with some discarded PRC-25 Batteries, and sitting on our butts in the mud, raining like all hell was loose when we simply ignored the first 4 incoming 122mm Rockets just to hear her voice and the music. After one landed about 30 yards behind us, we dove into our hole only to find that we were about to drown, HA! Chris meant everything to Marines in 3rd Bn 3rd Marines. Without her on the DMZ, all we had was Hanoi Hannah and she just didn't make for us, HA! Still Love You Chris...Me and Jerry made it home!

Really amazing story RR, had never heard of Chris Noel until this forum, after reading on her I quickly  signed the petition, a little sad to only see 900+ signatures, must be a better way to spread the word.
