Happy Lunar New Year know that is a big thing around my house also...though the dog/horse combo does not particularly get along well with snakes.

As I already commented in my other sticky post, AzPatriot has become our latest MVP for Radio Vietnam! Smiley  Thanks for your dedication and help with the station!

Thanks Nix!

I've promoted AzPatriot on the forum to MVP from contributor.  Not a huge leap but his dedication to the site and additional help on the Facebook page has certainly given him the title that only him and Huyen hold (along with RadioResearcher as our resident Vet). Smiley  I did it a few days ago and made no announcement. Smiley

Thanks to all three of you for what you do.  I know that I've been a silent member of the crew on the forums while trying to build the Facebook audience that helps translate to here, and the station itself, with ad campaigns. Smiley  We're doing great with almost 25k listening hours per month from 18k about a year ago.  So I know we're reaching a bigger audience.  I have no doubt as we grow in social marketing, so will our audience.  With hopeful additions to the site and integration to Facebook, we'll do much more in 2013 to continue spreading The Vietnam War and Vietnam Veteran awareness through our music.

Thanks to everyone that's contributed to a great year!

Thank you Nix, we shall forge ahead!  Transport

Mei Li like Pho quite abit, well any soup she likes as she says "soup keeps her young"...I myself do not care for it but I love a good Vietnamese "Hot Pot"

Hey AZ , I was wondering where you had been, some times its not always polite to ask but I was wondering why you had gone quite,
so good to hear from you again, anything new in your neck of the woods, as I said earlier nothing much new over this side of the water
same old stuff, nearly XMAS 10 days to go, still have not put up our tree yet, promised the wife that I would get one tomorrow, only thing
good about this year is that for the first time in 16 years I am not cooking the xmas dinner, normally I have best part of 15 people
to cook for and every year, its a nightmare, I never relax on the 25th so this year I have told them all that we are not having dinner
round our house, so they are all going to the mother in laws, and we are not having xmas dinner at all, my mother and father are
going to come over around midday and we will just have a table of prepared buffet type food, so am looking forward to my first
cooking free xmas day in 16 years, cant wait  Cheers!

All the best & kind regards

Dill The Dog

Hey Steve, a Merry Xmas to you and your family and hopefully an enjoyable boxing day.

From what I read and saw some film on in the late 40's thru the 50's the french had a ton of ex-nazi working for them over in Vietnam, mostly FFL and pretty battle hardened group from what I read.

Good to see your still kicking Nixie, crazy busy here with yet another tax season and teaching classes at the local college. Mei Li getting ready to go back home for a few months as we are purchasing a home in the "motherland", doubt I will ever use it but I suppose I will feel international anyway.  Sweet Fro Baby!

Oh and congrats on finding that special one, not easy to do.

40th Anniversary of Robert Altman’s MASH
Forty years ago today, on January 25th, 1970, Robert Altman’s MASH (or M*A*S*H) premiered in New York City. It opened in Los Angeles roughly a month later on February 18th and in the rest of the country in March. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, the screenplay for MASH was written by Ring Lardner, Jr. The movie was produced by Ingo Preminger. Johnny Mandel wrote the famous theme song and Mike Altman (son of Robert Altman) provided the lyrics. Donald Sutherland and Elliot Gould starred as Hawkeye Pierce and Trapper John McIntyre, respectively, with Tom Skerritt as Duke Forrest (a character not carried over to the television series), Sally Kellerman as Hot Lips, Robert Duvall as Frank Burns, Roger Bowen as Colonel Henry Blake, Rene Auberjonois as Father John Mulcahy and Gary Burghoff as Radar O’Reilly. Other cast members included Jo Ann Pflug as Lieutenant Dish, Fred Williamson as Oliver “Spearchucker” Jones and G. Wood as General Hammond.
Some two and a half years after MASH hit theaters, the television version we all know and love premiered on CBS. It would run until 1983. Had the movie not succeeded financially and critically, M*A*S*H never would have been made. A two-disc collector’s edition was released on DVD in February of 2006; the movie was also included as an extra in the complete series “Martinis & Medicine Collection” when it was released in November of 2006. You can read more about the movie at and

Yeah Harry Morgan just passed away earlier this month I believe, Mike Farrell was with him when he went, some great actors and a great show I grew up watching as a kid.

Mai Li and I are getting ready to buy a flat back in the "homeland" lol I would probably get locked away for flying that flag there.
