Hi,
I just joined the forum but I have been a listener for quite some time. I love the station and it is by far the one that I listen to the most. Great job and thank you for an awesome station and for bringing back memories from my younger days.

Tim
Thanks, Tim - and welcome aboard.  If you have Facebook access, be sure to check out our 'Radio Vietnam' Facebook page.

BTW...

this particular upcoming weekend is SUPERBOWL SUNDAY!!

Sorry...heh, heh, I am a big Seahawks fan, and can't wait to see how the number one offense does against the number one defense...whatever happens, it should be a good game, and I wish the best to all the players involved.  I would really like to see Percy Harvin show what he can do tho...

No matter my personal bias, I do wish that the game is as good as it should be.
Yes, but can the Seahawks claim to have their own AIRBORNE !!!

3  Entertainment & Media / Vietnam Era Music Discussions / Re: 1960s pop vs. 1970s album-oriented rock on: January 26, 2014, 07:07:29 PM
I agree mostly that the 60's were the best, but I disagree about when the era ended.  I stand on the idea that the end of an era was when they airlifted the very last people from the embassy in 1975.  But that's just my opinion, and you know the saying about opinions...lol.

That's okay.  Plenty of room for opinions on this.  Some go by the ramp-up of US involvement in 1965 to, as in your case, the literal end of the war, April 30, 1975.  I just prefer to parallel the years of US involvement in what the Vietnamese call "the American War".

Just caught the first piece of Jazz I have heard on RV,  “Cast Your Fate To The Wind” By: Vince Guaraldi Trio

Love a bit of Jazz, so that was cool  Razz

That was a recent addition, Dill, during the update of the playlist.  It was actually quite popular in the early 60s.  I remember whistling it - yes, whistling - while walking across the campus at the University of Colorado in 1964.  Simply shows the diversity of popular music in the 60s.  You should also hear Dave Brubeck's Take Five.

Hey Nix,

Since you messed with the graphics on the front page the Amazon search box no longer shows up on my screen.  You might want to fix that because you know I usually route my Amazon purchases through your web page so that you get your Vig.   Razz
Amazon is visible here.

Hi, girl.  I got the first two seasons of Boardwalk Empire for Christmas.  An orgy of bug-eyed, snaggletoothness - not to mention committed mobbery.  Who could ask for more?    Grin
